I'm going to fail at part two, but for part one, a pressing question:
I know I've said before that your icon is ridiculously cute and of course I stand by that statement. But what does it say about you? How did you come to choose it? Did you decide "I will scour the interwebs for a ridiculously cute punk-kitty icon" or did you think "iconomicon has great icons, this is the cutest so I will snag it as it best expresses me because..." or was there some other reason? Curious mind is curious... :)

Hmm, I can't remember how I came across iconomicon; I was very new to lj and trying to figure the whole icon thing out and joined some icon comms and I think he posted there. I just thought all his stuff was so interesting (though most was a bit, hmmm, avant garde for me).

But because I thought his icons were cool, I poked around on all his posts and saw this kitty! And it spoke to me...um, not literally, but it resonates with me for some reason. Maybe it's that he's so darn cute, IMO, but still kinda hardcore with his mohawk and necklace. He makes me smile.

So...long response is long, but there you go. ;)

Mmm, long response cool, thank you! Okay, now I will have to go look at some of iconomicon's other icons (current exposure as far as I'm aware of: 1 -- yours).

And srsly, the very punk yet very cute -- I would so read fanfic origin stories about this kitty! :) (Or oooh, future-punk-kitty traveling the galaxy in his own spaceship meets and saves and brings with him as a traveling companion the xkcd lost Mars Rover! Wait wait, the kitty is the 15th Doctor!)

Also, I just realized that the kitty looks similar to the cat from the 1978 Disney movie The Cat From Outer Space. Ever see that one?

Yes I kind of scared myself with that brainsploding series of colliding story concepts! Unfortunately I don't think signing up for yuletide and demanding that story and that story only works according to the yuletide rules. ;)

I have not seen The Cat from Outer Space... However, its premise sounds not dissimilar to the hilarious alien!LOLcat-in-Cardiff story by copperbadge: Trying to Communicate...?

Here's a different icon by iconomicon. I find it hilarious, though unless you've seen both Lord of the Rings and The Fifth Element, it may not make any sense.

Yes, I love his (too few!) SGA stories, so when I saw the LOLcat one recced somewhere I clicked instantly and was highly entertained.

I have seen both films, but I'm a heathen for not remembering them better and instantly getting it, alas!

For the icon:
Gandalf says "You Shall Not Pass" to the balrog at the end of the Fellowship of the Ring (and also shown in the beginning of Two Towers), and in Fifth Element Leloo keeps saying Multipass to the ticket gate people to show her fake ID before boarding.

1. Top Three Favorite Characters
I'm not sure of the answer to this. I tend to like characters in duos, where there's banter and interesting interactions. Usually I love both pretty equally. [Holmes & Watson in just about any incarnation, House & Wilson (not surprising since they're influenced/inspired by Holmes & Watson), Kirk & Spock (& McCoy), Jack O'Neill & Daniel Jackson]
I'd say Kyle Reese or Hicks, but that's just my major youthful crush on Michael Biehn, so it's more an actor-centric thing. Ellen Ripley is pretty awesome (Ripley/Hicks OTP!)
Wait, I know! Han Solo. Hands down, love that character. :D
Harry Dresden from Jim Butchers Dresden Files series (the books, not the TV show)
With so many characters I've really liked, the show ended up mucking them up [Smallville's Lex Luthor, SPN & Dean Winchester (stop whumping him, show!), most of the Buffy characters by the end of the series]

2. Three things I can't live without. Hmmm.
My boyfriend...or does he count, since the question is "things," and he's a person?
Reading! Books, the internet, whatever, I love to read!...My laptop, which facilitates reading the internet.
Maybe I'll go with the girl cliche and say chocolate. The world would be a much sadder place without nutella, or reeses peanut butter cups, or hot chocolate.

3. Tom Hardy, JGL, Leonardo DiCaprio -- wed, fuck or cliff, eh?
I'd cliff Leo. I like him well enough as an actor, but was never that into him.
This may sound dorky, but I don't know Tom Hardy or JGL well enough to say further. They both seem really nice, from the few interviews I've seen, and both appear to have fun senses of humor and are very thoughtful. So wishy-washy!
Guess I'll have to ponder that one more, too. ;)
